A program with special focus on AYURVEDA - Two different approaches are followed. One for rejuvenation & general wellbeing & the second for relief from a specific ailment. At SwaSwara you could experience Ayurveda for rejuvenation and well being without dietary or lifestyle restrictions or undergo Ayurveda treatments to de stress or seek relief from specific ailments in which case, your treatments would require dietary or lifestyle restrictions as prescribed by the doctor. Prana focuses on the body through a healing program using Ayurveda to rebalance the three humors in the body while supplementing it with daily yoga & meditation to help maintain it. Prana is suitable for those focusing just on rejuvenation & wellbeing as well as for those who are looking to de stress or seeking relief from specific ailments such as Arthritic problems, Musco skeletal problems, back pain, circulation & sinus problems. Ayurvedic treatments in this programme would include Shirodhara, Kizhyi, Dharas and Abhyangas. If on Prana for rejuvenation & wellbeing, your diet will be a well balanced diet that incorporates fresh produce from our organic farms- fresh vegetables, fruits, fresh catch of the sea. If on Prana for treating a specific ailment then, you diet will be a personalized vegetarian diet strictly as prescribed by the doctor and in keeping with Ayurvedic principles.
Special focus on DETOX AND CLEANSE and overall wellbeing with weight loss, anti-ageing, anti-stress. The Swastha program is about slowing and quietening down, fortifying your system and letting go of habits that no longer serve you. It is about tuning in more deeply to your body's wisdom in order to integrate this insight into one's everyday life. While a structured detox program is a good annual practice for one's body, some practices to which you are introduced in this programme will support your body in a natural cleansing process on a more sustained and regular basis. On arrival, you will have a combined consultation session with the Naturopathy & Ayurveda doctors to draw up a personalized diet built around your Dosha/Prakruti chart. Doshas are bio energies an imbalance The doctors will determine your bio energies with a combination of a pulse reading and answers to a questionnaire on your lifestyle and body type. To start the detox you will be put on a pure fruit juice only diet for a minimum of 4-5 days or more (according to the individual’s body constitution). After this juice detox you will be slowly weaned back to eating with a diet that will initially consist of only fruits to which raw foods & raw vegetable juices will be added on. During the latter half of the second or third week the diet is changed to a pure Ayurvedic diet.
You will be put on a personalized diet which is pure vegetarian, a balanced combination drawn from the worlds of Naturopathy & Ayurveda. At all meals herbal teas will be served and together the foods and beverages will support your nutritional needs while encouraging the release of toxins from the body. So while the diet throughout this two - three week program remains Dosha (Prakruti) specific and pure vegetarian, during the first seven to ten days it is more of an eliminatory diet using fresh fruit & vegetable juices & raw foods. An important ingredient in your diet for the entire duration of this programme will be the regular intake of “Triphala choorna” at bedtime. This is a nutritious and cleansing blend of three Ayurvedic herbs taken mixed with honey, which further assists in cleansing and maintaining the body. During the first week the therapies & diet are focused and geared towards cleansing the body of the accumulated toxins & stress using Naturopathic principles & Yoga therapy complemented by a few external ayurveda treatments which are primarily to de stress the physical body.
During the first week you get introduced to daily yoga, learn how to use Uddiyana Bandha, the Neti pot & Water enema to facilitate the cleansing process and practice meditations to align the body and mind. Daily Yoga sessions supplemented by Ayurveda therapies on alternate days relax and de stress the physical body too. Therapies & diet are focused and geared towards cleansing the body of the accumulated toxins & stress using Naturopathic principles & Yoga therapy.
During the latter half of the second & the third week the diet is changed to a pure Ayurvedic diet, the big changeover in this being that it features only steamed or cooked foods as per Ayurveda tenets to wean your system back to normal eating habits before you return home. Your daily schedule for these two weeks is supplemented by Ayurvedic therapeutic treatments every day.
BIMONTHLY CONNECT WITH THE SELF USING YOGA - The “Shanti” program is run bi-monthly, each session starting either on the 1st or the 3rd Sunday of every month. Built around Yoga therapy to refocus the mind, it includes a Day of Silence or Mauna to experience the healing power of silence in one's life. In this program one learns to appreciate that Yoga is not simply a matter of bending and contorting the body but truly an experience of a 'union with the self', calling on one to reach greater levels of awareness whilst becoming a more cohesive self. A strictly regimented programme in which given schedule will need to be adhered to & being based on living the Satvik lifestyle, the recommended diet is pure vegetarian. “Shanti” is a regimented program more suitable for those who have been practicing Yoga at least for a year so there is some level of awareness of the Yoga practices since there are a number of exclusive in depth meditation & asana sessions. While a couple of Ayurveda massages to de stress the physical body are included in this program, additional therapies can be availed only prior to or after completing the Shanti program so as not to interfere with the intensive Yoga schedule in this program.
